Project Overview:
We engineered and deployed a secure, centralized Online Training Application Portal for the Mizoram Khadi & Village Industries Board (MKVIB) to modernize their vocational selection process. Historically, applicants across remote districts had to travel long distances to the capital city just to purchase a physical application form for ₹20, with zero guarantee of final selection.
By transitioning this infrastructure to a robust digital ecosystem, we stripped away massive physical hurdles for rural artisans. The cloud-hosted solution manages the end-to-end lifecycle of vocational training programs—encompassing automated eligibility screenings, secure online fee processing, and a transparent digital tracking system. The solution effectively brings institutional opportunity straight to the applicant’s smartphone.
Scope of Work:
- Accessibility-Focused Engineering & Design: We developed a fast, secure web platform architected around a mobile-first design strategy. Recognizing that a vast majority of rural applicants rely heavily on smartphones over low-bandwidth mobile networks, the portal features a highly optimized, compact user layout that limits data usage while providing clear, intuitive navigation.
- Dynamic Training Program Management: We built an administrative backend control module allowing board officers to dynamically create, configure, and publish specific vocational training tracks (such as Spinning & Weaving, Carpentry, Bee Keeping, etc.). Administrators can customize entry prerequisites, define seat limitations, set strict deadline windows, and tag stipend-supported courses effortlessly.
- Automated Eligibility & Multi-District Screening: To eliminate hundreds of hours of manual verification, we integrated an intelligent automated parsing system. The algorithm reviews application data points (such as geographical location, age, and prerequisite background skills) against custom program criteria, automatically categorizing and prioritizing qualified prospects for final board evaluation.
- Micro-Payment Gateway Integration: We safely integrated a highly responsive payment gateway tailored to smoothly handle low-ticket transactions, such as the standard ₹20 application fee. The portal delivers instant transaction confirmation, generates digital payment receipts, and updates the applicant’s dashboard in real-time, completely bypassing the need for manual cash handovers or bank drafts.
- Real-Time Application Tracking Dashboard: To alleviate the uncertainty inherent in old paper-based systems, we engineered a dedicated “Check Status” tracking feature. Applicants can securely input a unique application token from any mobile browser to view live updates on their processing stage—from initial submission through review, interview shortlisting, and final selection.
Results:
The implementation of the Mizoram KVI Board portal fundamentally democratized access to state-sponsored livelihood training programs. By replacing physical travel with a streamlined 5-minute online submission, rural communities saved substantial sums in transit and lodging expenses.
Administrative processing overhead dropped exponentially, data errors from manual entry were completely wiped out, and the board achieved complete, auditable transparency across every application cycle.
